Stoke contest results

The fifth contest of the 2010 WGUK season took place in Stoke On Trent on Sunday 28th February with 24 Guards (6 in each class) competing at Fenton Manor Leisure Centre at the WGUK UK Regional Contest.

Mayflower once again took top honours in the Open Class with Southern Knights again taking the the honours in the Cadet, Junior and A Classes.

In the intervals WGUK laid on two different "Spintastic" training events - the first a flag basics class followed by a Street Dance class in the second interval.  Both these sessions had the arena packed with guard members and was very well received.  The WGUK Board will be discussing how they can extend this feature at future events.

At the end of the event the audience were entertained by two exhibitions - the first a Street Dance display by the team who ran the Spintastic session followed by a performance by Kidsgrove Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps.

Only two more contests remain in the 2010 season and in two weekends time we go south at Burgess Hill followed a week later by going north to Barnsley and details of all WGUK contests in 2010 can be found in the Contest Information section of this website.
